Happy Birthday!!!

Has it really been SIX years since we got a phone call in the middle of the night telling us that Shelly was in labor? Has it really been SIX years since we went to the hospital scared out of our minds that Shelly was going to change her mind? Has it really been SIX years since we got the phone call that said, “Shelly is solid!! She would love to place her baby with you? Has it really been SIX years since we held this little girl in our arms for the first time? Has it really been SIX years since we drove home from the hospital to huge loving family with the most beautiful baby girl in the whole world? It really has been the best SIX years of my life!!! Thank you Shelly, WE LOVE YOU and are forever grateful for you and Michael. 

Lola is a  big ball of SUNSHINE!!! We love her so much. What a joy and a blessing she is to us. She loves everyone and everything. She is compassionate and kind. She’s dramatic and thoughtful. She’s my best little girlfriend!!!

On a side note a funny story about what Lola said to me today:

Lola says: Mom Shelly was my mom before you were my mom.

Me: yes, but she chose to have me be your mommy.

Lola: But mom, I wish she chose Sunny (my baby sister) to be my mom.

Me: Why?

Lola: Because she gives the coolest birthday gifts!!!

Me: Well that would make me your aunt.

Lola: Cool, I live at my aunts house.

  

What a silly little girl. I can’t imagine life without her. CONGRATULATIONS LOLA YOU ARE GOING TO BE A GREAT 6 YEAR OLD!!!
