Grandma you are the cutest lady i know. There is a little explaining to do for this picture. First of all the sunglasses inside the house, that has an explanation. My grandma got herpes in her eyes which have let them very sensitive to sunlight. It had snowed outside, and the sun was shining in the windows so bright on Christmas morning 2007. She is not actually picking her nose but from the view of the picture it sure does look like it.
Lorna has had a rough year. In Aug 2008, Grandma threw her shoulder out. She got a cortizone shot for the pain and inflamation. She ended up getting a staph infection in her shoulder as a result and it settled in her heart as well. The heart valve had to be replaced w/ a pig valve. The shoulder had to be cleaned and drained. Now, open heart surgery is not easy on anyone, let alone an 87 year old lady. Since the surgery we have struggled w/ keeping grandma healthy. Her short term memory is shot,and quickly becoming more than her short term memory that is struggling. She is in a nursing home at present. My visit w/ her the other night was heartbreaking. I told her I am pregnant 4 or 5 different times. Every time she got so excited like it was the first time.
Grandma, you are an inspiration. You have lived a beautiful life. One that all of us as your children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren consider a life that we all aspire to. I love you. Stay strong. I enjoy your whit, your strength your work ethic, and most of all your relationship w/ sweet dear grandpa. Get better soon, for all of us!!!
